Laura Franklin graduated from Azusa Pacific University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Music Theory/Composition. Her primary instrument is bassoon, but she has performed on a number of instruments, including clarinet, trombone, baritone, saxophone, flute, and percussion. While at APU, she was involved in many performing groups, including Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Handbell Choir, Percussion Ensemble, and Woodwind Quintet. She loves learning new instruments, and can play most brass and woodwind instruments. Laura is beginning her Master’s of Music at APU this fall.Laura is excited about the opportunities Foothill provides. In the next few years, she hopes to involve the band in more school and community events, and to introduce them to local festivals. She also hopes to create a summer band program to involve not only Foothill students, but also students from the surrounding areas. She hopes to expand the band program to become the largest and most talented band Foothill has seen yet
