John Mehl
6th Grade Teacher

When school began this year, seventh grader, Jenny Heinlein, emailed her classmates at school, recalling the wisdom of her sixth grade teach, Mr. John Mehl.

Hey guys...

My summer was boring at first, but then I remembered what Mr. MehI had said. He said not to forget all the good memories we had in sixth grade and most importantly not to forget what God has done for you.

I wanted to let you guys know that I am so happy to start seventh grade with you. I have grown more and more in God's word this summer and it's not all about popularity in school or anywhere else. Seventh grade is going to get hard for all of us, but we have to stand strong in God and know that He is in control of all things! I just wanted to make sure you guys know that. Well, I hope you guys had a great summer! And don't forget, Live 4 God, and not yourself!!! Jenny

John Mehl is a new author pursuing his life-long dream to share his contemplations and imagination through his writings. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University, John is now teaching at Foothill Christian School in Glendora, California, and is married to the love of his life, Kiersten.

John's first novel, "The Legend of the Wood" came as a result after he challenged his students to write a chapter of a book they would actually enjoy. John decided to take on the challenge for himself. One page soon turned into one chapter, and with the encouragement from family and friends, one chapter became a complete novel. "The Legend of the Wood" is the first of a series of fantasy-adventure books that apply Biblical principles and Christian allegories.
