Miralles/Robinson Duo
FCS Teachers

Ask a theatre historian about dynamic duos and names like Rogers and Hammerstein or Ira and George Gershwin quickly come to mind. But ask supporters of Foothill’s Fine Arts Department the same question, and they’ll tell you it’s Miralles and Robinson!

Carolyn Miralles (FCS Music teacher) and Jennifer Robinson (FCS Elective teacher) have joined hearts, skill and talent for the past four years to produce and direct Jr. High Drama productions of Annie, Cinderella, and most recently, Seussical.

Under their direction, students learn basics of performance skills including vocal technique, acting, musicality, and stage presence. Students are also taught the importance of commitment and group-related performance expectations.

Under the auspices of the school’s Jr. High Fine Arts department, students are encouraged to participate in play productions which give them opportunities to shine and savor the applause of family and friends.

Mrs. Miralles directs the music for the show. She trains students in proper vocal technique and musicality in group or one-on-one settings.

Mrs. Robinson “gets stuff done,” as she says. Those jobs can range from costumes and staging to sound and publicity.

Together, they direct the show and collaborate on details for blocking, staging, and choreography. It’s a huge job but they love the assignment and share a high sense of expectation that each performance will be the very best effort possible.

Their shared love of students, Christian values, teaching and theatre not only make for a great collaborative team, but a dynamic friendship joined at the heart.
